El helicobacter con numeros nos aporta esta revisión de la sociedad andaluza de patologia digestiva
Helicobacter—ulcera, gastritis cronica atrofica, cancer, dispepsia funcional, y linfoma malt.
La infección gástrica por Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) es muy prevalente, afectando alrededor de un 60% de la población en España. Puede producir patologías muy variadas. La lesión que más frecuentemente produce es la gastritis crónica superficial, permaneciendo asintomáticos el 90% de los pacientes infectados.
A pesar de que la infección por H. pylori es más prevalente en los pacientes con dispepsia funcional, la erradicación de la infección sólo consigue la resolución de los síntomas en un 10% de los pacientes dispépticos. Independientemente de este hecho, el diagnóstico y tratamiento de la infección por H. pylori es de primera línea en los pacientes con dispepsia funcional.
